Update on Shadowfever Launch Party!

You Maniacs continue to amaze me—the hotel block at Le Pavillon sold out within 4 hours!

The bad news is we are unable to extend the block.

The good news is that you don’t have to stay at the hotel in order to attend the book signing and talks.

While the $120.00 a night rate is no longer available, there are many other wonderful hotels in the area.

Can’t wait to see you in NOLA!

PS: For those who have already made reservations at the higher price, please be aware that Le Pavillon does not intend to adjust that rate downward. Whatever they are charging is what they are charging.

KMM Shadowfever Book Launch Party details!

When I first began thinking about doing a book launch party for Shadowfever, I knew exactly what kind of atmosphere I wanted for it: Barrons Books & Baubles—Old World, timeless, classic. Also like Barrons Books & Baubles, I wanted it to be set in a city that was filled with craic: vibrant, exotic and exciting. Where else but New Orleans? A city I love!

I’m thrilled to invite you to join me at Le Pavillon (one of my all-time favorite hotels) in New Orleans on January 16, 17 and 18th for the Shadowfever book launch party! To see how gorgeous the hotel is check out the online brochure.

The festivities formally kick off on Sunday the 16th with a scavenger hunt in the heart of the French Quarter. I plan to arrive earlier to take a Big Easy advantage of the holiday weekend, as Monday is Martin Luther King Day. I’ll be staying at Le Pavillon as will Leiha and many other Moning Maniacs. We’re looking forward to all being in the same hotel together when Mac’s epic journey comes to an end.

The Shadowfever signing will begin at 4:00 PM on Monday the 17th at Le Pavillon hosted by Octavia Books* and continue until midnight. The following day, Tuesday the 18th, I will give several talks starting at 11:00 AM at Le Pavillon discussing the Fever Series from conception to end for the first time ever, and answering your questions—so read fast! All events (except for the scavenger hunt) will be taking place at the hotel.

We’ve negotiated a special rate at Le Pavillon for people attending the party. In order to get this rate, when you call you must say you are with the KMM SHADOWFEVER GROUP, otherwise normal rates will apply and they are significantly higher. The price we were able to obtain for attendees of the KMM SHADOWFEVER GROUP is $120.00 per night, so you want to be sure to get the discount.

As I can’t forecast how many people will attend, I’ve reserved only a small block of the hotel. It’s first come first served at the special rate. If we exceed our block quickly, I’ll bump it up, but the hotel can only guarantee the special rate for the number of rooms I’ve initially reserved (and if it’s not met, I’m on the hook for them, ergo the conservative estimate:) Additionally, Le Pavillon is a boutique hotel, unique, stunning and smallish, with only 200 or so rooms, so please make your reservation early to insure you get a room before they are all booked.

I’ll be posting updates about the launch here at my blog, so check it frequently. It’s going to be an incredible weekend filled with good food, great times, and fabulous people! And of course….what you’ve all been waiting for—answers.

*Octavia books will be taking pre-orders for Shadowfever. If you plan to attend you will need to pre-order a copy to be sure yours is on site at the hotel the night of the signing. I’ll be posting links to how to pre-order in the next few days.

My flight is booked, my room reserved, I can’t wait to see you guys in New Orleans!

Recording Shadowsong!

Yesterday was one of those golden days. I laughed so much my face hurt. Spending time in the studio with Phil and Neil, listening to them make music and...er...other things...was a total blast.

We're hoping the new CD will be done and ready for pre-order by mid-December. We've got some very cool music and art that's going into Shadowsong. This time, I'll be including a list that tells you where in the book to listen to each song. Unlike the last CD that was about the entire series, Shadowsong is specific to Shadowfever.

Phil flew in to record a very special piece with us that I know you're going to love. After Neil finished writing it, we realized there was only one voice that could do it justice. I was fanning myself the entire time he recorded it. I kept asking him to redo a few lines just so I could hear him say them again. (Like: "I am your dirty dreams.")

I was trying to get a good shot of Neil and Phil together to share with you but they got into a pissing contest...or...something, LOL! Did I tell you laughed so much my face hurt?

All in all a great day. I'm so excited to share the music with you soon!

First look at Shadowfever!

What a great birthday! Thanks for the cards and the posts, you guys are THE best and have made it such a special day for me! As if being blessed with such wonderful fans and friends isn't enough--look what came in the mail today!

Before you start plotting to raid my house,LOL, it's a dummy copy. The pages are blank. Isn't it beautiful? I've never seen a book like it. Which is fitting since the book the book is written about is one of a kind too.

Off for dinner and cake!
