Icestorms and kittens...

So we left Cincinnati for Georgia to escape the ice and snow. As you can see, that worked out real well. Above is my back yard yesterday.

In the midst of the storm, we got a special delivery, on iced kitten paws. I think they read my newsletter yesterday, saw the Wolf Run post and got the addresses mixed up, LOL.

I have a dilemna: I have the Goddess Empress, she-who-permits-no-others :) and I can't keep them. They are an extraordinary family of three toms. I think it's a dad and his two kittens. What's so extraordinary about them is how much a family they are. The dads dotes on and adores his kittens! He brought them to our back door, politely waited until we finally offered food, nudged his babies to it, waited until they ate, then walked over to me and licked and thanked me, and finally ate himself. He sees to them first, constantly. He's smart, well-behaved, well-groomed and gorgeous. The pictures don't do any of them justice.

We kept them inside last night because it was so cold. All three of them bedded down in our laundry area, used the litter box, ate and slept good and warm for the first time in who knows how long.

I'm two hours from Atlanta. I'll get them their shots, I'll get them spayed. They need a home, and they need to stay together. If you see the three of them interacting, you'll understand why. The dad licks, cuddles and grooms them like no male I've ever seen. He's been protecting them and keeping them alive for some time. I think the kittens are between 3-4 months. They're fluffy and beautiful. They were obviously house-cats that got turned out for some reason.

Can anyone offer these aristocats a home? Please email me at karen@karenmoning.com.

He's a KMM hero in the making! Karen, you are so wonderful for taking this on and looking for a home for them. I would open mine - and my daughters would LOVE it, but I am horribly allergic to cats (which is why I think they seem to adore me) and the only cat my girls can have is the FurReal Kitty they got for Christmas.

Good luck! I know someone will step up make a happy ending for the family.

I live in Tallahassee, FL with two spoiled rotten kitties already. Therefore, I am not sure how they would welcome more to their domain. However, if no one else is able to take them, I might be able to swing such a nice family unit. From the sound of things it would be such a crime to split them up.

I really wish I could take them, but I have a husband who won't treat animals like I think they should be treated (just like real people) and wouldn't let them inside...so sorry...hope you find them a great home...bap7249

What a wonderful thing you are doing!

Maybe they got out and someone is looking for them? Have you contacted the shelter to see if anyone is looking for this family?

Cara, we've put out the word locally also, trying to find out if they wandered off, or were lost somehow, but haven't heard anything. They're so sweet and well-behaved, it's hard to believe they don't have a family that loves them.

Ice storms are scary but they do have beautiful outcomes.

The kitties are gorgeous! It makes me all gushy inside to read that the little ones are being taken cared by their daddy. I didn't think male cats had it in them.
I hope they find a nice home. :)

(Sorry for blank post above).

Ahh, the sweethearts. I wish I could take them, but we already have 2 cats and 2 dogs and wouldn't have the room for them. But, if I win the lottery this week they're MINE. ;o) I'm so happy they crossed your path, and I agree it'd be best if they stayed together. I'm thinking of a happy ending for them. I love cats!

Aaawwww that's so touching! I've never seen a male cat like that. I'm actually tearing up a little lol

Like the others, I wish I could give them a home, because they are just too cute & sweet to pass up, but my whole family is allergic to cats.

Please update us on the status of these kitties. I hope they find a good home soon. They're just too adorable. T_T

OMS how goregous they are and that is tooooooo sweet how the Dad took care of the kittens and thanked you. I so wish I could take them but I'm in TN and have three of my own that would be very mad at me! LOL I do so hope you can find them a good home though they are beautiful and sweeties it sounds like.

I have never heard of a tom taking care of his babies; that is really astounding. I wish I had a house to take them in. I want a cat (or two or three LOL) but can't have one in my apartment; it's just too small with my dog......sigh......

That is so adorably sweet, I think I'm getting cavities! Sadly, I can't help: my "roomies" have allergies. But I do hope you can keep us all updated on their "status...es"? "Stati"? ..."situation". :)

They are beautiful and amazing. I wish I could take them, but I would have to get rid of the DH. He's not the animal lover I am and tolerates my golden retriever (raised with a spoiled cat) because he knows what his life would be like if I didn't have a least the one furbaby.

I hope you can find them a wonderful home.

AWWW how sweet. I just lost my precious kitty after 20 years. I would love them. But as I am very far away and DH has told me no cats (thats right now, eventually I will persaude him)I can't do it now.

But they are awfully cute kitties.

Anonymous, that is funny!

Karen, we have a cat rescue program on our campus. I'll post their pictures with the background story and see if we can get any takers.

I hate to ask, but if people can only take one, would you be willing to let them be separated?

The three toms have a wonderful home in the area, thanks to all of you for offering your help! You guys are amazing. Within an hour of my post we had takers from all over. I feel so blessed to have such an amazing network of people with big, generous hearts. Thank you, thank you!!!

Oh, I'm so happy they have found a new home. Thank you for taking the time to take them in and find a good home for them. I love my kitties. Have 3, and one is a primo don. we brought in a new kitten. he didn't like it, but he copes by just ignoring her.
