APRIL NEWSLETTER CONTEST—Puzzle
I’m always fascinated by the progression from sketch to final cover, and I thought you might be, too. The seventh jpeg is the finished art, printed and ready to be wrapped around the book.

This time, I asked Bantam Dell to let me conceal a clue on the cover, and the art department did a fantastic job accommodating my request. On the normal-size cover, in the bookstore, it’s not so easy to spot. I’m making it a little easier by giving you a high res shot of it.

Your mission: Find and decipher it. Tell me what I hid, and what it means.

Ooh I love the idea. I will work on the answer. I think I have something already. I love the way you put so much into all of your books. This why I sit all this time waiting with baited breath... You are awesome!

Found the clue but still working on what it means. I should be working at my job this hard!
