While I had Chronic Lyme Disease, I couldn’t work out, and I used to be a workout junkie, hopelessly addicted to endorphins. If I got depressed about something, I’d work out till I flooded my brain with too many endorphins to continue brooding. Cheap trick but it worked. Watching my body cripple up from Lyme arthritis was…well, I don’t want to think about that any more.
I can work out again! I’ve been doing an hour of cardio every other day for over a month, yoga and light weights. It's heaven.
So, what does all this have to do with Marilyn Manson and vampires? The song makes me kick elliptical petunia! It's moody, intense, passionate, and very weird, but then it is Marilyn Manson. I'm also listening to Shout 2000 by Disturbed and, since a lot of you write to ask what I read, it’s currently Stephen King’s Duma Key which I’m loving, (his comments about art and creating are pearls of wisdom from a Master) and I just finished Gena Sowalter’s latest ARC, The Darkest Kiss from her Lords of the Underworld series, also fabulous! (Television rights to her book Red Handed were just sold, so we may see another fascinating paranormal TV series in the near future.) The Darkest Pleasure is next. (I linked to the cover because I think it's sexy.)
Mac vs. the Shades is almost here! We’re finishing two more screens and beta-testing, and it really will be ready to launch this week. My web designers have outdone themselves with this one. I can’t wait till you see it.
My workout playlist is almost all Manson, Disturbed, Rob Zombie and NIN. I need some new tunes. What do you listen to when you work out? Please help me build a new playlist.
